The published research of Al‑Furat Al‑Awsat Technical University in the field of sustainability represents a pioneering applied approach, contributing directly to the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing innovative scientific solutions to local challenges, such as smart hydroponic techniques that combine food security and water resource management. The diversity of this research in internationally indexed journals (Scopus/IOP) and the university’s commitment to prestigious international rankings reflect its role as an academic institution that harnesses its scientific outputs to serve society and build a green and sustainable economy.

SDG Commite
The Sustainable Development Committee is the central body responsible for coordinating and monitoring all sustainability activities across ATU’s 16 academic formations. They oversee strategic alignment, reporting, and integration of sustainability with quality standards. Additionally, 16 liaison officers – one from each formation – serve as direct links between the central committee and their respective colleges or institutes.
